Nov. 7th - All day on Easter Island

Full day today! Ocean, beach, rocks, grass huts, and lots of giant stone faces!

One of the most interesting places was the Ranu Raraku quarry. This is where almost all of the 1,000 statues or moai found on Easter Island were sculpted. The side of the quarry has numerous ones in varies degrees of completion. They were then transported to the different ceremonially platforms throughout the island

The largest moai, El Gigante, still lays in the side of the quarry.

Also seen today was Ahu Tongariki where 15 moai stand side by side on a long ahu platform.

Enjoy the pictures!
