Nov. 8th - More Easter Island

Today we spent time in Hanga Roa which has wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean.

We then visited Ahu Vinapu, the site of tightly fitted stones.

We traveled to Orongo in the afternoon with 48 stone houses that were used between late 1600s until 1866 during ceremonies honoring the god Make-Make. Once a year a very interesting competition took place - worth looking up and reading about. After we made our way the volcano Rano Raraku.

It is a very beautiful island and we had a wonderful time. Heading back to Santiago tomorrow.
